XDSOFT specialists have completed the development of a unique video analytics system for football matches
XDSOFT has successfully completed the development of an automated video analytics system for football matches using artificial intelligence technologies. This project was implemented as part of the "Development — Artificial Intelligence" competition, organized by the Innovation Promotion Fund under the national "Digital Economy of the Russian Federation" program.
The system is built on neural network technology and machine learning algorithms, designed for game analysis, player positioning, and comparing various metrics. The solution accurately identifies players from both teams by their uniform colors, even under uneven field lighting, allowing frame-by-frame tracking and detailed analytics for each player.
Key functionalities of the system include:
- Detection and monitoring of player positions on the field;
- Recognition of significant events such as goals, passes, offsides, etc.;
- Generation of heat maps showing player concentration in specific field zones;
- Measurement of player speed and acceleration;
- Player tracking to determine movement trajectories.
The system significantly simplifies match analysis for coaches, analysts, scouts, sports journalists, and bookmakers. It has no domestic equivalent and can serve as a full replacement for foreign software currently used in Russian football. The system's components can also be applied in other fields where object classification by color is required.
